Review by hotel critic
As a marine biologist and scuba instructor, my travels often teach me about the delicate balance between luxury and value, especially when seeking the perfect spot to unwind. During my recent stay at the Half Moon, I aimed to enjoy some downtime while visiting family. Location-wise, it's convenient, particularly for accessing nearby attractions and bus routes. The hotel offers ample free parking, which is a plus if you're exploring the surrounding areas. I found the rooms to be tired and rather basic. The thin mattress made for less-than-comfortable nights, and the lack of plug sockets near the bed was inconvenient. On that note, maneuvering to plug in a hairdryer was cumbersome. On the bright side, the cooked breakfast was a standout-delicious and plentiful. the service felt lacking; we simply received our order with no follow-up from staff. The pub meal we had was satisfactory and consistent, showcasing local flavors. In short, while the Half Moon unquestionably has potential, it might not be the best value for your money if you're after complete luxury. There are alternatives in the Caribbean that may better balance the two, especially for discerning travelers like us ocean lovers.
